A spring chicken has white plumage and comes from an extremely slow-growing breed. The 100% plant-based feed is specially adapted to be low in energy, helping to slow down growth. The key feature of a poussin is its excellent, full meat coverage, particularly the rounded breast. Our supplier is independently audited by an external body to ensure compliance with their own strict standards and parameters during the rearing of poussins.

A poussin is sold as a whole bird and is especially popular in the hospital sector. Poussins are slaughtered at 28 to 32 days old and weigh just 450 to 550 grams when oven-ready – about a third of the size of a standard chicken.
