Label Rouge Christmas turkeys are exclusively found in France. They are raised in small barns of no more than 400 m², with a maximum stocking density of 6.25 turkeys per m². Each barn has an outdoor area of at least 6 m² per turkey, which must include vegetation such as trees or shrubs for shade. The feed is 100% plant-based, consisting of at least 75% grains, supplemented with natural vitamins and minerals.
These bronze-feathered turkeys are known for their striking black plumage. With a minimum slaughter age of 140 days, a Label Rouge Christmas turkey weighs just 2.5 to 3.5 kg when oven-ready.
This is a very slow-growing breed, resulting in dark red meat and a beautiful layer of fat under the skin—qualities that guarantee exceptional flavour.
Label Rouge Christmas turkeys are available exclusively in December.
