BIO CHICKEN

Certificé Agriculture BiologiqueThe term organic (BIO) speaks for itself; however, within the EU there are different interpretations of what constitutes organic chicken. In France, the standards are very clear. A French organic (BIO) chicken is always a slow-growing breed. A day-old chick becomes organic once it is placed on an organic farm.

  • Housing: 11 birds per m² in a barn of no more than 400 m².
  • Outdoor access: 4 m² per chicken, meaning each barn has a hectare of vegetated land where the chickens can freely roam and forage.
  • Feed: 100% plant-based organic feed and minerals with full traceability, with at least 70% consisting of grains. These grains are preferably produced regionally.
  • Since 1985, there has been a French label called "Agriculture Biologique", which certifies and guarantees the organic production process. All producers in the entire supply chain are audited by independent bodies.
